Taken from the Tick Tock Unlock website; “While carrying some inspiration from traditional escape games, the Library is truly unique. You will not be confined to one room or theme for an hour, and you no longer have to worry about picking the right theme in a one-theme old-style escape room. Instead, your hour-long experience will be spent entering multiple different, exciting books, and taking part in competitive puzzles and challenges. The goal is not to escape, but to collect as many magical keys as possible, in order to fix the book, and earn a place on our leaderboard. Think of it as a big and best mix of Immersive Theatre, Escape Games, and Adventure Game shows!”

The experience is perfect for friends, family and colleagues with groups best being a size of 3 to 5 players. Corporate bookings alongside smaller and bigger bookings can be made as a special request depending on availability, so it is always best to reach out! Tickets are from £20, so value for money for a unique experience is there! 

Puzzles & Flow: 8/10

The puzzles within the rooms were varied, quirky and fun. They ranged in difficulty and because of the non linear style, you could be working together or separately in trying to find the keys and solve puzzles. With you going into many different themed rooms, they all had a range of skills to be used in order to progress and this meant the flow was consistent across the adventure, which we loved!  We smashed a bull in the china shop, fixed a spaceship and even sent post. Some of our favourite puzzles were the physical ones, as we don’t get to see them very often in many experiences. 

Uniqueness: 10/10

The Library of Broken Books is completely unique as there is not another adventure that we know of like this. Whilst it very much follows an escape room format and style, it crosses over with experiences like the Crystal Maze & other immersive styled performances. Having the game master being with you from the start but that also leaves you as you take on each book, it gives a great blend of the best of these styled experiences.

Overall, Tick Tock Unlock have produced an immersive unique experience that needs to be experienced to fully understand it! With the future of the experience looking bright with more space to build more themed worlds, you will be able to return again and again to see new worlds in the same game style that you’ll get to love. We for sure will be keeping an eye on this and returning when we can!
