UK Theme Parks Reopening Restriction Guide

UK Theme Parks have confirmed that they can reopen from July 4th after further lockdown restrictions are eased. Below you can find the key information for the majority of the parks! These will be updated where possible and we advise to check with each theme park directly for new changes. 

Thorpe Park

Thorpe Park

Opening Date: 4th July 2020
Rides Closed: To be confirmed (expected Derren Brown Ghost Train, Angry Birds 4D, Jungle Escape & The Walking Dead: The Ride)
Masks: Yes on selected rides (Stealth, Swarm, Nemesis Inferno, Colossus, SAW The Ride, Flying Fish, Detonator, Samurai, King Pig’s Wild Hog Dodgems, Samurai, Vortex, Zodiac, Mr Monkey’s Banana Ride, Storm in a Teacup)
Opening Times: Standard opening times 
Other Key Information: First two weeks significantly lower capacity and reduced ride offering.

Alton Towers

Opening Date: July 4th 2020
Rides Closed: Alton Towers Dungeon, To be confirmed (expected Hex & Duel)
Masks: Yes on selected rides (Nemesis, Galactica, Oblivion, The Smiler, Wicker Man, Rita, TH13TEEN, Enterprise, Blade, Runaway Mine Train, Marauder’s Mayhem)
Opening Times: Standard opening hours but without ERT (early ride time)
Other Key Information: First two weeks significantly lower capacity and reduced ride offering.

Chessington World of Adventures

Opening Date: 4th July 2020
Rides Closed: To be confirmed
Masks: Not required at present
Opening Times: Standard opening times 
Other Key Information: ERT will be offered for hotel guests as usual. The new Rainforest area will be available from this date also! 

Legoland Windsor

Opening Date: July 4th 2020
Rides Closed: Dragon’s Apprentice, Haunted House Monster Party, Squid Surfer, Laser Raiders, Scarab Bouncers, Model Makers Studios, Sky Rider, Lego Reef, Lego City Deep Sea Adventure,
Masks: Currently not required
Opening Times: Standard opening hours but without ERT (early ride time)
Other Key Information: Shows such as Return of Skeleton Bay & Duplo Valley Theatre will also remained closed.

Fantasy Island

Fantasy Island

Opening Date: 4th July 2020
Rides Closed: To be confirmed
Masks: Not required at present
Opening Times: Split into ride slots depending on date with allocated riding hours including special late night riding sessions!
Other Key Information: Skyflyer and Firebowl, the parks new attractions for 2020 are expected to open on July 4th.

Paultons Park

Opening Date: July 4th 2020
Rides Closed: Indoor play areas, 4D show street cinema and outdoor play areas.
Masks: Currently not required
Opening Times: Standard opening hours
Other Key Information: Virtual queuing app on mobile has been introduced to aid social distancing on selected rides. New food ordering app.

Blackpool Pleasure Beach

Masks: Yes on selected rides which are to be confirmed.
Opening Times: Standard opening times but season extended until December.
Other Key Information: New food ordering app alongside booking system with E-tickets instead of wristbands.

Twinlakes Park

Opening Date: 4th July
Attractions Closed: Buccaneers Island (all indoor play areas in this zone), Labyrinth (all indoor play areas in this zone), Prairie Pete’s area, Fantasy Castle, Outdoor play areas (including swings, slides), adventure play, Tumblers soft play, Jumping Pillows & Water Park.
Masks: No
Opening Times: Standard opening times

Lightwater Valley

Lightwater Valley

Opening Date: 18th July
Rides Closed: The Ultimate, Raptor Attack & Apollo
Masks: No
Opening Times: Standard opening times
Other Key Information: Reduced ticket price due to ride availability

Drayton Manor

Opening Date: 4th July
Rides Closed: Larger rides closed until 18th July, the select rides (TBC) will continue to stay closed
Masks: Yes for 3+ in all areas except ‘outdoor common spaces’
Opening Times: Standard opening times
Other Key Information: Virtual Queueing app for rides and catering

Oakwood
