When are UK Theme Parks opening for in 2021?
Whilst 2020 didn’t offer the greatest of availability for UK theme parks, we are sure 2021 will be back to normal. Find below when your favourite theme park is expected to be open in the UK in 2021.

Alton Towers Resort
Opening Day – Saturday 20th March | 10am – 5pm
Alton Towers Resort is set to reopen its theme park on March 20th. With no confirmation at present if any annual pass or preview days are before, this will be the first day for regular guests.
The season is expected to have key events such as their Halloween event Scarefest, returning to the resort in October on the 8th – 10th & 15th to the 31st. Fireworks are also making a return on 5th, 6th and 7th of November to end the season with a bang!
Alton Towers Resort have an exciting 2021 year planned with the delayed World of David Walliams expected to open with star attraction, Gangsta Granny The Ride.
Thorpe Park Resort
Opening Day – Saturday 27th March | 10am – 6pm
Thorpe Park Resort, the home of thrilling coasters is set to open on Saturday 27th March. No annual pass days or preview days have been advertised at this stage.
Thorpe Park have not confirmed any events returning for 2021 however, we would expect Fright Nights to return for it’s 20th anniversary and this could start from Friday 8th October through to October 31st on selected dates. The return of Oktoberfest is also looking likely to return with opening times from September increasing to 7pm closes on Friday’s and 8pm closes on Saturday’s.
After the delay of their new attraction Black Mirror, this is also expected to open in 2021 at Thorpe Park, with no confirmation of its opening day advertised at present.
The season is expected to end on Sunday 31st October.
Chessington World of Adventures
Opening Day – TBC
Chessington World of Adventures Resort has yet to provide an updated 2021 calender on their website or make an announcement. With a handful of attractions open during the winter and February half term break, it is likely we will need to wait a little longer for an update!
With the planned opening of a brand new family friendly drop tower that is expected to be called Croc Drop, Chessington also have an exciting season ahead of them!

Blackpool Pleasure Beach
Opening Day – Saturday 6th February | 11am – 5pm
Blackpool Pleasure Beach is starting its season during the February half term starting on Saturday 6th February 2021. The theme park will open on weeks throughout February & March before reopening daily at 10am – 5pm from Saturday 27th March.
Blackpool Pleasure Beach have not yet released any shows or entertainment for 2021 except from their annual Halloween Slimefest event. We expect more information will come in later in 2021.
With Valhalla being closed in 2020, it was expected to return in 2021 new and updated however, it has been delayed until 2022.
