Wicksteed Park Enters Administration

Wicksteed Park enters administration before 100th birthday due to hard financial time due to Covid-19 and with little support from goverment.

Wicksteed Park has unfortunately entered in administration on Monday 15th June, due to hard financial times during the global pandemic of Covid-19 here in the UK. This incredibly old park was due to hit 100 years old in 2021 after opened back in 1921 by Charles Wicksteed.

The park is expected to keep the charity streamlined until next year where it hopes to open to celebrate this amazing milestone, along with keeping free play parks and parkland open in line with the government guidelines.

The Wicksteed family mentioned how “crippling” it is during this time and how “devastating” this is for them to move forward like this.  They continue to mention, “we are working hard to ensure they have access to the support and advice they need.”

The park has one of the oldest unique log flumes in the United Kingdom along with other family fun thrills across its park. We here at Thrill Nation wish them all the best at this difficult time.
