This is our second visit to Escape in 60 Windsor and this time, took on the more challenging Escape The Castle room. A perfect room for the Windsor location, with the Windsor castle being nearby. Following the story;

“As a history professor researching old legends of Windsor Castle your recent discovery of a hidden diamond necklace made you famous. However, last night everything changed when your assistant and the necklace disappeared from your locked office. The castle guards refuse to believe your innocence.  Now locked in the same office the only way to clear your name is to find the secret exit that you had both been researching.  You have 60 minutes!”

Puzzles & Flow: 8/10

The puzzles were really the highlight of Escape The Castle, which is perfect for an escape room. They had some really cool pieces of tech and some hidden gems. The attention is in the detail and we love places that can make clues and answers blend in to the background. We were left stumped so many times but were staring the answer in the face more times than not. With a few funny elements added in for humour value and a great range of logical and team work based puzzles, it comes together quite nicely. The flow made sense in the room and we knew what the next step needed to be more times than not, with only one blip from our end. With that said, it has plenty to keep you busy for any team size, from us as a duo to a full team of 6!

Uniqueness: 4/10

Escape The Castle does not have anything too unique about it however, what is unique is the location and the closeness to Windsor Castle. It also has some really cool different puzzles which we’ve not seen before. We’ve seen many tech puzzles that require different elements but, we’ve not seen of these puzzles before and the interaction with it wasn’t expected at all! Not all escape rooms need to be unique and whilst we didn’t rate it too highly in this section, this does not take away that it is still a challenging and fun experience.

Overall with a rating of 18, Escape The Castle is still a challenging room for experienced players but offers plenty of fun elements, humour moments and a great experience!

Escape in 60 Windsor are a great family run business and have some great rooms that you should try for sure. We enjoyed Escape The Castle as our second experience with them and have left their most challenging room left, being The Amber Room. We really had some moments of struggle in this game and only just managed to escape this one, compared to The Curse of the Lost Chamber.
