Prison of Memories takes us down a more emotional story of learning the backstory of some of the characters, with the limelight being on Mr & Mrs Q and how they became the mouse’s they are today!

“After a sneaky attack from an unknown assailant, Mr Q is trapped in a coma. With time running short it’s up to Mrs Q and Lord Hammerschmidt to dive into Mr Q’s mind and find a way to wake him up. But they can’t do it without your help!”

Prison of Memories takes some of the best features from the previous play at home games and implements them in their latest experience. This seemed like the least cutting in all of the experiences which is the first step before playing the game. This is great to see as the experience still is as excellent as the other games but with a much quicker setup time.

To anyone who has played any of the previous games, you would know it would require the online portal which is where you have some of the puzzle, the video storyline and where you must enter your answers. It seems Prison of Memories allowed for more videos to be used before and after each chapter of the game, to keep adding to the very gripping storyline and interlink with the puzzles. 

The puzzles have been taken to a new level as the games have developed since its creation, with the answers being not as simple as you first think and requiring more logic than ever before. Which of course is fitting as the story takes you into Mr Q’s mind and he is a very intellectual mouse! Whilst the puzzles are more difficult, the hint system they have is fantastic with given you 3 hints before the solution if you really can’t solve it. Everything is extremely clever and is there for a reason, even if you can’t see it at first, you’ll laugh when you do see how it all comes together. 

Overall, Prison of Memories is a gripping start to the series, filled with tension, surprises and drama which for a play at home paper based escape room, is incredible. The layers required to make this an immersive adventure is all there, from a video based storyline, clever puzzles and an interactive system, every piece of the puzzle is there.
