Rob The Bank by Kingston Escape Rooms Review

Kingston Escape Rooms is one of London’s funniest escape rooms and premium experiences. Located just outside of London in Kingston, they are situated within the Rotunda, hosting 4 escape experiences which they advertise that are bigger & better. Also known as Know Escapes, this is one of multiple branches under that brand that have games up and down the UK.

Kingston Escape Rooms have 4 escape rooms hosted at this venue with some very interesting themes. With the mention the use of live actors, this certainly has caught the interest of us and thousands of players who have come to play one of these challenges.

Playing one of these rooms costs as little as £18 per person with teams of 2-6 can play per room. We were invited to experience the Rob The Bank room, a room with more than a few twists up its sleeve!

Rob The Bank by Kingston Escape Rooms Review

Kingston Escape Rooms are still operating as a COVID secure venue. This does mean masks are mandatory whilst entering their venue and playing any of their games, unless exempt. This is a business decision to protect the staff and to stay as safe as possible. They can provide masks and do also request for you to wash your hands prior to playing any of the games.

With this said, we delve into Rob The Bank…

“Angie knows who stole the family gold – it’s midnight and she backs her Ford Transit into the side of Harman’s Bank. You and your team have one hour to jump out and get the gold back. Will you find it? Will you make it out in time?

Wear comfortable shoes and dark clothing. Ladies and Gentlemen, it’s time to Rob the Bank.”

Storyline & Themeing: 9/10
The storyline is super immersive, giving you a detailed story about what you’re about to take part in and how your going to do it. With the starting of the experience being hosted in the back of a real van, it really paints of picture of what the experience was going to be like. Also helping push the story, live actors are used and they will make your game much harder than your typical game, which is great to see and not seen enough in the escape room world. The themeing was high quality with a lot of thought going into each room and how everything is going to work. With the use of live actors, a clue system and many surprising twists and turns, this room is remarkable.

Puzzles & Flow: 9/10
The puzzles in the room were witty and fresh, with so many of them being perfectly embedded into the story to progress it along to robbing a bank. From a UV puzzle to stealing a bank card before finally trying to get to the gold, everything felt realistic and genuine to get to the end goal. The flow of the room is actually controlled perfectly and can be adjusted per group, allowing all kinds of players to play this game and get to maximise time and money on this experience. There was so many stand out moments and puzzles in this game, our highlight has to be the interactivity with the puzzles and how this differs for each group.

Uniqueness: 9/10
The uniqueness of Rob The Bank is up there as one of the most creative and original. Whilst a bank / robbery / vault escape theme is very common, we have not experienced anything like this. Interactivity is the key difference here, with a handful of puzzles requiring a different way than usual to solve. This makes them fun for the players and to use a different set of skills than your average escape room. Without giving too much away about what happens in Rob The Bank, lets say you may need to make a few calls first.

Overall, Rob The Bank is one of our favourites and highest rated escape games played to date. With interactivity, original and passion used in each and every experience, you are only guaranteed to have the best time when visiting Kingston Escape Rooms.

A massive shout out to Dave our Games Master & Frank who invited us over to play Rob The Bank and taking time to talk to us about the business and the game. We cannot wait to return and play the Crazy Cat Lady room!
