For two terrifying decades Fright Nights has preyed on your darkest fears and nightmares, spewing horrific creatures from their cruel domains to take over Thorpe Park. 2021 does not disappoint with the perfect birthday lineup, with improved scare zones, new and altered mazes and other thrilling gruesome entertainment to celebrate the island like no other.
Fright Nights has mashed the best of the 20 years into this event, with 3 mazes, 5 scare zones with two shows hidden within and the crows roam once more.
Below we rate, share small videos of the attractions and some images within for the press and preview nights of the event. Whilst the content below is not intended to spoil the experience, please note it will share footage within the attractions and explain some elements of these mazes, scare zones and other entertainment.
Platform 15: End of the line
Platform 15 returns for it’s final year as it finally comes to the end of the line. As a returning maze, it takes on a new story with some noticeable changes throughout. We were not expecting Platform 15 to be a strong contender for this year but we were very much wrong. The scares were built up from the very beginning with it being quite creepy and tame but as you progressed, it got crazier and freakier. The storyline was one of the best and flowed throughout the attraction and the themeing was still as good as ever. The actors had so much energy and are seriously putting in a shift to give Platform 15 a send off that you won’t forget. Overall, the strongest version of this maze since it’s opened!

Creek Freak Massacre
Creek Freak is a returning maze to the Fright Nights lineup, debuting back in 2019 for it’s first ever time. Ran by the Buckwheat family, they own the local Creek Woods Sawmill and are more than happy to show you around. The scares were as impressive as ever, with a range of acting skills used to terrify you and put on a show. The themeing within Creek Freak Massacre is super impressive and there is a clear story set from the very start. The actors keep the high intensity of this attraction with chainsaws, hillbilly screams and all sorts of lumberjack monstrosity. A true highlight and will be for sure a fan favourite this Fright Nights!

Trailers
“Immerse yourself in a dimension of nostalgia as you take your seat and journey into a gruesome and spine-chilling collection of horror classics… but will you make it past the Trailers?”
Trailers is the brand new maze for 2021. Throwing you literally into the theatre as you snippet classic horror films and possibly even past Fright Night attractions. With any maze in it’s opening year, sometimes it can lack in scares or atmosphere but Trailers does not. With so many types of scares, fears and themes being showcased, it was hard not to be terrified. A clear storyline is set with SuperSpark Cinema and the themeing is something not to miss, with each room being very different to the next. The actors can have so much fun in this attraction and it was a great range of scares used that made us laugh, jump and run through Trailers. Overall, this maze is a playground of Fright Nights, mashing up the best of the past and putting some insanely clever ideas together to create this fun, yet scary attraction!

Creek Freaks unchained
The blades of Creek Woods Sawmill are spinning once again, and the deranged Buckwheat family are back wreaking havoc in their pursuit to find new recruits! Watch your back as you pass these vindictive lumberjacks, and hope you make it out the other side…
The Buckwheats have returned for another year but with an open area scare zone. Covering a portion of the Old Town area, we see a fair few changes compared to its previous version. Instead of one way round, it is open with multiple members of the Buckwheat family waiting eagerly to meet you!
You can meet Ma & Pa and play some Scribble (their version of Scrabble), you can take the Buckwheat promise and buy some goods in the local shop or maybe you fancy some entertainment in the moonshine bar? With so many different little sections, it has plenty to keep everybody entertained.
The Buckwheats may be friendly but they do wish to play, with them welding axes and creeping in the shadows. Overall, its a fun and expanded addition to the area from its previous year but equally still holds the scares required and embeds well with the Creek Freak Massacre maze!
The Crows of Mawkin Meadow
Take a walk through the cursed village of Mawkin Meadow and unearth the origins of the infamous Crows. Trek carefully through the darkened fields of corn and hope your presence goes unnoticed, these folk don’t take well to outsiders.
The Crows are another returning character but this time, they have their own dedicated scare zone. After being so popular last year, they have taken over the pathway by SAW: Alive. They still also roam the park with their numerous spots but if you do not want to miss them, then this is the place to go!
This is now a very creepy walkway and really does add that extra layer to The Crows character. Whilst we found it quite tame and short, it was great fun to see them and not miss them!
The Swarm Invasion
Enter the dystopian wasteland after dark as THE SWARM has invaded, leaving a path of carnage and desolation in its wake. Head with caution as you pass through this alien infested landscape and pray you aren’t abducted by these other-worldly extra-terrestrials. THE SWARM: INVASION – the end is now.
The Swarm Invasion is a returning scarezone but expanding once again from its previous year. The scare zone is that missing part to the Swarm Island and with help of the ride and themeing provided already, makes a complete experience.
Additional stopping points provide a story and interactive experience, from the research tent, the supply store and the news stand. Make sure you stay away from the shame circle but more importantly, keep away from the evil of the invasion.
Amity High vs Lycanthorpe Love Bites
The blood-thirsty teens of Amity High are partying at the old Speedway… vibes where high until the students of LycanThorpe gate-crashed the celebrations reigniting the vicious feud between the rival schools. No one knows how this bitter rivalry started or how it will end, but amid the chaos are two star-crossed lovers kept apart by this toxic feud. They say love conquers all, will it win this time? Or will the night end in tragedy?
Another fan favourite to the Fright Nights event, Amity High mashes up with LycanThorpe as they share the same area. With a new updated storyline and a new playlist to their flashmob routine, Love Bites gets the party started this Fright Nights.
For whatever side you join, whether that is Amity High or LycanThorpe’s, all the actors will make you feel welcome as you enter their scarezone.
Birthday Bash
You’re invited to Hattie and Hugo’s birthday bash… but keep your wits about you, these are no ordinary twins! Don’t be fooled by the bright balloons and shimmering streamers – all that glitters is not gold. Mummy’s spoilt little angels have a dangerously devilish side… maybe you’ll think twice next time you RSVP.
Birthday Bash is brand new for 2021 and is here to celebrate the anniversary of not just Fright Nights, but twins Hattie & Hugo. Think you can visit without a present? Think again, as they will not be happy if you do not entertain. Meet Hattie, Hugo and even a human piñata as you witness some spoilt children enjoy a birthday like no other.
Don’t forget, no birthday is without its entertainment! Singing, dancing and other gruesome acts will take centre stage as they try and fight for their lives and not disappoint the twins!
This is another fun yet chaotic area and is a perfect mix of family friendly entertainment but scares that will make you scream.
LEgacy
In the 20th year of Fright Nights we also see a brand new show showcasing the past mazes at the event. LEGACY is a 5-10 minute show featuring fire, lights, lasers and CO2 cannons; all set to an engaging soundtrack featuring themed voiceovers and songs of many fan favourite attractions over the years.
Legacy sadly did not open at the beginning of the event in October due to delays. However, it debuted on 15th October and should run daily til the end of the event.
We really enjoyed the display and watched all 3 showings on our latest visit which were the same every time. It’s great to hear familiar soundtracks and also remixed ones to fit with the high energy fire and light sequences. Our favourite sections had to be The Big Top and Creek Freak Massacre!
Be sure to check out Legacy on your Fright Nights visit which runs at 7, 8 and 9pm; the best place to watch is on the beach… what’s not to love about fire and lights!?
Overall, Thorpe Park Fright Nights is the home of fear for 2021 with one of the best years yet for mazes, scare zones and other entertainment. Make sure you check out the event throughout the rest of the fun and let us know your thoughts over on our socials!
