Angry Birds at Electric Gamebox Review

Angry Birds have invaded the world’s smartest box being Electric Gamebox! This cutting edge technology is where your body becomes the controller in an immersive group adventure that can last between 30 to 60 minutes. From high-octane spy missions to being abducted by aliens, Electric Gamebox has an experience that is fun for everyone.

This isn’t our first review of Electric Gamebox! You can find our first ever experience over at Gravity Wandsworth in London review by clicking here. Equally, we visited the Southbank venue earlier in 2022 too, where we experienced Psychedelic Mansion as a duo, which our thoughts can be found in this review here!

Both reviews offer a range of images, TikTok’s and insight into two very different 60 minutes adventures.

In this review, we were invited for a VIP preview of the brand new and latest experience, Angry Birds at Electric Gamebox! A multiplayer mission of the good classic game we all know and love.

Play the first ever multiplayer Angry Birds slingshot game! Grab your friends and family to play our life-sized Angry Birds game. Using 3D motion tracking and touch screens, two players at a time will control the slingshots to launch all your favourite Angry Birds from both sides and take down The King Pig once and for all. With over 50 levels to play, this game is perfect for groups of adult friends, and families with kids aged 5 and over.”

Angry Birds has quite literally launched into Electric Gamebox and this brand new game is now available to play. Released on June 29th, you can book to take down The King Pig and as many of the 50 levels as possible in a 30 minute family fun challenge. Costing £16/£18 depending if peak or off peak hours and £11/£13 for juniors. Whilst the costing can be classed as premium, this venue is located in central London, easy to get to and is a unique experience that will get you hooked in returning for more!

For anybody who has been living under a rock and don’t know what Angry Birds is, it’s a classic popular game where you take control of several bird characters as you fling them into structures to destroy and take down all the pigs. Take control of Red and his friends as they all have different powers to tackle each level that get progressively harder.

Electric Gamebox brings this experience into the modern age with the use of cutting edge technology. Using their one-of-a-kind augmented reality environment, which makes you feel like you have stepped into the game itself.

Don’t worry if you’ve never played at Electric Gamebox before, or have no idea what Angry Birds is or how the technology is going to work, you get a great tutorial prior to playing and you start off with basic rules and the easy levels first!

The Angry Birds game was even better at Electric Gamebox and our team of 4 loved every minute of our time. Whilst the classic game, they have reinvented it as their own by making it multiplayer, meaning 2 players can play at the same time to take down all of the green pigs. Each player can choose their own pig, which angle they fire and what to go for to score the most points. Whilst you are playing in pairs, the points you score are your own and you can have a good old fashioned competition between yourselves to see who can do the best.

Starting off with the easier levels, we got through these with great pace, which is needed as each level you only have a certain amount of time and shots to achieve 3 stars (hopefully) and move on to the next level. With over 50 levels, you’ll have to be a pro to get that far. We managed to score 34 stars and over 1 million points in our 30 minutes, which got us 3rd on the leaderboard but likely much worse now!

With simple game mechanics, a well loved IP and it having that touch of Electric Gamebox magic, Angry Birds is brought into the new gaming era once more.

A huge thanks to the Electric Gamebox team for allowing to be the 3rd ever team to experience this game in our preview. They did provide us with a complimentary game to allow us to show to you what you are missing out on!
