Fantasy Island Resort is back open for the 2021 season with a whole bunch of surprises ready for new and existing guests to explore. Whilst like many other businesses, they were impacted heavily over the covid-19 period over the previous season, they have not held back with some amazing new additions to the resort.
For anybody who does not know, Fantasy island is located in Ingoldmells, Skegness. The park is a part of the Mellors Group and has been since 2016 and the park has come from strength to strength ever since. We’ve been fortunate enough to attend multiple times over the years and our previous reviews can be found on the following links.

Fantasy Island has made a few changes to the ride lineup for 2021. We unfortunately don’t see Ice Mountain return however, the park bring another spinning coaster in its replacement, Spinning Racer! This Maurer coaster can spin riders up to 70km/h and is certainty a thrilling addition to the resort. A worthy replacement of Ice Mountain.
The park also had during our visit a small kids coaster next to Spinning Racer. A typical wacky worm styled ride which was introduced at the start of the season to help with outdoor attractions whilst the indoor area remained closed. This was not permanent and will likely be removed by the summer if not already.
Spinning Racer is not the only new addition to the park in 2021…
Fantasy Island have 2 new indoor attractions opening this summer. The Guardian is a robo-arm styled attraction and you can see the entrance in the image we have taken. Whilst much has not been released, an exhilarating quest is expected whilst riders will be totally immersed in a world where every turn decides your fate.
The other new attraction which will be found indoors is Harrington Flint’s Island Adventure’s! A fast paced, immersive and highly interactive adventure which will feature custom made, branded content. This is expected to be a stationary shoot em up styled cinema attraction.
Both attractions will join the impressive dome of entertainment, which already has numerous rides, arcade machines, bowling and much more!
Fantasy Island is home to many great rides already. From Odyssey & Millennium making up the skyline of the park. With fun thrilling rides like the Volcano drop tower, Firebowl being the spinning teacups and Rhombus Rocket, the outdoor powered coaster. There is plenty for the full family regardless of age!
For 2021, we see the return of some of events. During the summer, the park have plenty of firework events on. From the celebration of life fireworks which is available every Wednesday after sunset. On top of this, it will include lasers, sound and projection!
Our favourite event returns in October being Fear Island, the parks Halloween event. Fear Island V is the parks 5th instalment of running a Halloween event, 4 new scare mazes will join the lineup alongside a new family friendly show!
Overall, Fantasy Island is really heating up as each year goes on with new attractions being added, some amazing events which is all on top of what they already have! Free entry to walk around the park is still a strong selling point for families and locals, with guests wishing to ride can buy daily wristbands or tokens per ride. With the scorching weather we have had already and due to have more of this year, Fantasy Island in Skegness is one place you should visit if you have not already!
We look forward to returning later on in the year to experience Fear Island V and the two new indoor attractions! Until then, we thank the Fantasy Island team for allowing us to visit! If you are wanting to know more, check out the Life is a Rollercoaster podcast with James Mellor and ourselves!
