House of Clowns

House of Clowns returns for its 3rd year with a more simplified version of the story. For the previous years, we have seen a Grandma character be either used in the introduction or within the queueline for photo opportunities. For 2021, Grandma has gone and now we are left with a funhouse. With no storyline prior to entry into the maze, It does however spring into action the moment you step in with clever scares around every corner. The actors were as chaotic as before and there was some great moments within. Sadly, it did feel to be a little short of actors at times in select scenes but with a pumping funhouse soundtrack, heavy strobes and some beautiful themed sets, it does stand as a solid haunt at this event!

V I T A N O V A

VITA NOVA was launched in 2019 with a lot of secrecy surrounding its theme and experience, and is now back for its second year. The beginning of this attraction will really determine whether you continue or not, as we seen many people walk straight back out, much to the hosts (and our) amusement; it really is one of the scariest mazes at FEAR. The reason why it’s so scary is that nobody is safe regardless of your position in the group due to the splitting technique used right from the beginning, being separated into your own chambers before being sent on your way into the chaotic facility. With this being said, you won’t be completely alone and will meet back up with your group and others throughout. The park and actors have really understood the maze this year and used it to its full potential with multiple routes and splitting options throughout. We loved how the actors used the ability to touch in this maze, which we are yet to see this year used in a meaningful way and overall, it came together to scare most guests to death. A pretty unique attraction which you won’t see at many events!

Fire Show & Entertainment

Fear Scream Park have always done one thing right, and that is park entertainment. With the highlight being the fire show, of course. Each year, we see a new show with an impressive tower. With the promise of more pyro and more entertainment, we were pleasantly surprised to see this was completely true. Linking to the mazes, even Malefica, the story came together in a 5 minute light and fire show, with a backing screen and the actors taking stage too. 

This leads onto the park entertainment, which this year sees Trixxie and Chunk take the main focus, with Frank and the rest of his gang being nowhere to be seen. This is a little disappointing and we do hope to see Frank return next year as we feel he is a big part of the event. With this said, these two actors roam around and were a good laugh plus, Enigma was the new character that took the spotlight. Enigma performs a show every hour and this being a magic / illusion act. With the help of some actors, they did a different show on each performance time which kept everything fresh & current, and worth seeing multiple times throughout the night. 

In the interim of the fire shows and illusion shows, music was pumping and a great festival atmosphere was welcomed. On the main stage, you could see the queue times to the event and there were also some dancers doing a great job in their spooky outfits. We also seen a variety of other acts like fire breathers & light up hula hooping, which gives you so much more to enjoy before, during or after the mazes!
